We work remotely (during COVID) and needed a place to stay that was conducive to working from home. My partner and I stayed at this property for the month of November.
I was particularly happy they let me bring my pet, as she travels with me a lot and I prefer to bring her a long rather than going through the trauma of boarding her. All-in-all, we really enjoyed the home and would stay there again when we come back. So there shouldn't be an issue with that anymore. So we decided to buy a Roku and I installed it and they reimbursed me for it. She responded quickly and her son came over to try to get them working, to no avail. The TVs weren't picking up Netflix or Amazon and we called Brigette. I didn't think the electricity was unreasonable. The temperature outside during our stay was in low to high 80s, so not cool outside. Our electric bill at the end of the week was $80. I turned the thermostat to 76 during the day and down to 72 at night and that worked perfectly. We didn't have trouble with the temperature, as some of the reviews suggested. I was never able to get the temperature right, not sure if it isn't functioning properly or user error. The master sink fixtures were confusing as there is one handle to turn on the water and the other to regulate the temperature. The bathroom fixtures need some updating. The master is on one side of the house with a fairly large bath and there are two other bedrooms on the other side with a shared bath (shower only). It is also really close to the Eco-Reserve where there's a 2 mile walk through the mangroves on a boardwalk, shade the entire way. We ate every meal out on the lanai when we were home :) It is also convenient to restaurants and grocery stores and the neighborhood was good for walking in the evening. A very nice sized pool with a hot tub, on the end of a canal, so pretty private. It is spacious, well equipped, but the real high point of this house is the lanai. I spent a week here with a friend and really enjoyed our time at this house. A dining set for eight is available on the covered patio, so there is extra room to invite guests over for a barbecue. Both the pool and the adjacent spa can be electrically heated. The pool area faces south and overlooks a Gulf access canal. Villa Tropicana almost looks like a newly built home.
Dark wood and granite countertops set handsome accents. The fully equipped kitchen and both bathrooms are completely renovated. Each of the three bedrooms is individually designed. Unusually large windows, some of which extend all the way to the floor, and sliders to the pool area allow the light to flow into spacious rooms that are tastefully furnished with contemporary pieces. The pleasant impression of the outside continues inside as well.
